The widely accepted theory is that Native Americans crossed the land bridge from Asia. This land bridge, known as Beringia, connected Siberia and Alaska during the last Ice Age, approximately 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. Over time, these early inhabitants migrated southward and eastward, eventually populating North America.
