A poem about Namibian independence day

Namibian Independence Day

In the heart of Africa, where the deserts sing,
A tale of resilience on the winds takes wing.
From the shadows of struggle, a new dawn was drawn,
On the 21st of March, a proud nation was born.

Namibia's spirit, like the sun's golden rays,
Shimmers with freedom, igniting our days.
From the Fish River's whispers to the Etosha's embrace,
Unity guides us, a beautiful space.

Through the echoes of history, brave voices arose,
Against oppression's tide, a fierce river flows.
With courage as our anchor, hope in our hands,
We stood for our future, united we stand.

The drumbeats of culture, they resonate deep,
In the heart of our people, our stories we keep.
From the Himba to the Ovambo, diverse and so strong,
Together we flourish, where everyone belongs.

Let the flags wave high, in the blue, gold, and green,
A tapestry woven with every dream seen.
From the heights of the Brandberg to the shores of the coast,
We celebrate freedom, for it’s what we love most.

With gratitude we honor those who fought for our right,
In the dance of our history, we remember their plight.
On this day of rejoicing, we lift up our voice,
In the spirit of Namibia, together we rejoice.

So here’s to our nation, on this glorious day,
With hearts full of pride, we celebrate and say:
For the love of our land, and the strength of our way,
Happy Independence, dear Namibia, today!
