Global interdependence has profoundly shaped the Middle East and Africa through complex economic, political, and cultural exchanges. In these regions, the influx of foreign investment and the integration into global markets have led to significant transformations, such as advancements in technology and infrastructure development, particularly in urban areas. However, these changes are often accompanied by challenges, such as economic disparities, increased reliance on foreign powers, and social tensions arising from cultural globalization, which can be seen as both positive and negative. For instance, while access to global markets has fostered economic growth in places like Kenya and the Gulf states, it has also exacerbated inequalities and sometimes undermined local industries. In my own life, global interdependence manifests through the availability of diverse products and services, as well as through communication with friends and family around the world via online platforms. An example is how access to international media has influenced my understanding of different cultures, making me more empathetic and aware of global issues, but it also exposes me to the challenges of misinformation and cultural homogenization.
