Is the sun about 5,000 degree Celsius

1 answer

The surface temperature of the Sun, specifically its photosphere, is about 5,500 degrees Celsius (approximately 5,800 Kelvin). So while 5,000 degrees Celsius is somewhat close, the more accurate figure is a bit higher at around 5,500 degrees Celsius. The Sun's core, however, is much hotter, with temperatures reaching around 15 million degrees Celsius.
