Name of Game: EcoCity Tycoon
How it works: EcoCity Tycoon is a city-building and resource management simulation game where players take on the role of mayor of a small town striving to become an eco-friendly metropolis. At the start, players have limited resources and a small budget, and they must strategically build and manage their city by constructing residential, commercial, and industrial zones while ensuring sustainability. Players need to balance economic growth with environmental impact by implementing renewable energy sources, creating green spaces, and establishing public transport systems. Each turn represents a month in the game, during which players must manage their budgets, respond to citizens' needs, and adjust their strategies based on random events such as natural disasters, economic booms, or environmental protests. Players can also invest in research and development to unlock new technologies that promote sustainability and enhance city infrastructure.
How does a player win? To win EcoCity Tycoon, players must achieve a target city happiness rating and sustainability score while managing their budget within specified constraints. Each player's success is measured by two primary metrics: EcoScore, which reflects the city’s environmental health, and Citizen Satisfaction, which gauges the happiness of the populace. Victory conditions can vary, but ultimately, players must reach a predefined EcoScore of 100 and maintain a Citizen Satisfaction score of at least 80% simultaneously within a set number of turns. Additionally, players can earn special achievements for milestones such as becoming completely carbon-neutral or having the highest citizen satisfaction in the league, thus creating a competitive aspect that keeps the gameplay engaging and dynamic.
