New Millennium Poster Project – Scaffolded Instructions
Objective:
Your group will create a poster about an important figure, event, or cultural development from the New Millennium (1990s–2000s). The goal is to inform and analyze its impact on today's society.

Step 1: Understanding Your Topic
Your group has been assigned a topic on a sticky note. Before you start designing your poster, discuss:
Who or what is your topic?
Why is it important?
How did it influence history, society, or culture?
Guiding Questions:
Who were the key people involved?
What happened?
When did it take place?
Where did it take place?
Why does this still matter today?

Step 2: Poster Requirements
Your poster must include the following elements:

4 Pictures/Visuals
20 pts
Include at least four images (drawn, printed, or digital) that relate to your topic. (5 pts each)

Step 3: Research & Organization
Brainstorm – Before designing your poster, gather information as a group. Use notes, textbooks, and reliable sources.
Assign Roles – Each team member should be responsible for different sections of the poster:
Writer(s): Summarize key points.
Researcher(s): Find dates, events, and impact.
Artist(s): Draw or arrange images.
Designer(s): Ensure the poster is visually appealing.
Check Your Work – Make sure all required elements are included.

Step 4: Poster Design & Presentation
Use color and large, clear fonts for key details.
Organize information neatly – avoid clutter.
Make sure everyone contributes and is ready to explain their section.
Be prepared to present your poster to the class and answer questions.
