how is this basic guide to taming.io for my friend?

Its pretty basic. as you play, you punch objects to get resources, or fight animals, etc. When you reach the next AGE (XP LEVEL), it offers you something as you level up. you can be offered building props, or food, or weapons, or tools, etc. When you come across mega-sized animals, do not attack, because it is probably a boss, and bosses are almost impossible to kill. However, if you get attacked by an animal, big or small, set your animals on OFFENSE mode to help defend you.

Animals have five action buttons.
Defense - symbolized by a shield, they stay around you an only protect you, but never go out of thier way to make trouble.
Offense - symbolized by a sword, they attack anything living that is not part of your team, if your on one. if your solo anything is a threat. (to create or join a team there is a button on the top right corner of your screen IN-GAME only.)
Stay - symbolized by an open area, your animal will stay in a specific area, no matter where you go.
Go Here - symbolized by a poiting hand, you can choose a point for your animal to go to. this can also be activated by right-clicking your mouse.
Special Skill - either an attack or a boost triggered by the animal, this can either help you out or be a powerful attack against an animal and/or player. once triggered, it has a certain amount of reset time that must pass before this skill can be triggered again.

You can study creatures by accesing your Tamodex. To do this, on the menu screen click on the button that shows your equipped pet, then click the 'change pet' button to review your tamodex, and learn all about the creatures you tamed, own, and dont own. you can also review the creature's skins and special attack. Takle a few minutes to read through your tamodex. YOu can also learn whether or not you need to use a slingshot or appleator tool to tame certain pets, so you can make the choice when offered these tools. use these to shoot at a creature that is sleeping if you want to tame it (unless its a boss-sized animal, THEN DO NOT DO IT!!!) and shoot at it. if your not using the right tool, it will wake up and run away. but if you do it right, it will stay asleep long enough for you to shoot at it a few times to raiase your taming chance percentage, and this will give yo ua better chance of taming it. the rest you can learn, its not hard.
