Question

Hi class,
The order of draw is important because it prevents and cross contamination from happening in between tubes. Doing so ensures that the test results are as accurate as possible. The correct order of draw for the tests that were ordered are pro-time (light blue top), TSH ( gold/redtop), complete blood count (lavender top), and lastly is A1C (gray top). The area that would be used for the blood draw is the antecubital fossa, it’s located in the inner elbow. the technique used would be washing hands and putting on gloves, gathering necessary equipment, applying tourniquet, cleaning the area, inserting. Needle at an angle, collect tubes in order, take out needle and apply pressure, label tubes.
