Defining Characteristic? Acceleration of the frame of reference itself. Inertial frames are in constant velocity, non-inertial are changing velocity.
Each type? Going in an auto down a highway at constant velocity for inertial, for non-inertial, sitting on a merry-go-round that is spinning.
