I suspect you mean 8x + 4y = 12 or 8x - 4y = 12
If 8x + 4y = 12, y = 3 - 2x from which you get
x = <<-3...-2...-1...0...1...2...3 >
y = 9....7....5...3...1..-1..-3 ..
or an ifinite number os solutions.
If, by chance, you are seeking positive solutions only then,
x = 0 or 1 for
y = 3 or 1 respectively.

I'll let you work out the 8x - 4y - 12 case.
