HELP PLEASE!!!!
1.Write the equation of a line with the slope of -2 which contains the point (3,6)
y= mx+ b
y= -2x +b
Put in (3,6) and solve for b. Then you know m and b in
y=mx + b
won't it be..0??
I think it will be zero.
Are you a teacher?
The question is
1.Write the equation of a line with the slope of -2 which contains the point (3,6)
Let's test it.
Using y=mx+b with m=-2 and (3,6)
6=-2*3+b or
6=-6+b
If b=0, the we have
6=-6+0=-6 ??
Nope, not 0. Try 6+6=b
so it's 12??
Well if you have slope of -2 and the point is (3,6), then using
y=mx+b or
y=-2x+12
then substitute x=3 to get
y=-2*3+12=6
so yes, the y intercept is 12.
