This message inspired many to join the Civil Rights Movement. According to the Achieve3000 article "The Hope and Legacy of Dr. King," he encouraged others to stand up against racism and injustice peacefully. Because of his work, laws were changed to give African Americans equal rights. Dr. King's teachings still guide people today as they seek justice and equality for all.
