A cone and cylinder both have a radius of 3 inches and a height of 6 inches. If the cone-shaped container is filled with water and this water is then poured into the empty cylindrical container, what will be the depth, in inches, of the water in the cylindrical container?

No real calculations needed here.

Since the volume of a cone is 1/3 the volume of its corresponding cylinder, the water in the cylinder would rise 1/3 of the 6 inches or 2 inches.
