There are many things that influence what government (at all levels) thinks is important to us - the people - from media to polls to interest groups.
Describe the relationship between public opinion and the public agenda - what does public opinion (including lobbyists interests groups, and the media) have to do with what things the government uses its time, money, and resources.

Public opinion is what the people think about different issues, and it plays a big role in shaping the public agenda, which is the list of things the government decides to focus on. When many people care about a certain topic, like climate change or education, government leaders pay attention to those opinions because they want to follow what the citizens want. Media, like news reports, help spread information about these issues, making them more important in the eyes of the public. Interest groups and lobbyists also play a key role by trying to persuade the government to pay attention to specific problems that matter to them, often using facts and stories to show why their cause is important. When leaders see that there is a lot of support or concern about an issue, they are more likely to invest time, money, and resources into addressing it.
