this one is easy, just plug the second equation into the first
3x + 7y = 10
3(2-2y) + 7y = 10
6 - 6y + 7y = 10
y = 4
now back into x = 2 - 2y
x = 2 - 8 = -6
3x + 7y = 10
3(2-2y) + 7y = 10
6 - 6y + 7y = 10
y = 4
now back into x = 2 - 2y
x = 2 - 8 = -6
