how do ear defenders work

Answers

Answered by BOB
Ear defenderes reduce the amount of noise (sound power) that gets to your ears by producing a physical barrier that absorbs the noise and muffles it.

Ear defenders work by absorbing the sound that was headed to your ear. They absorb the sound waves by increasing air resistance this reduces the loudness of the waves. The energy is converted into heat and the person wearing them can hear sounds at quieter amplitude than the actual sound.

Ear defenders work by absorbing sound waves.they absorb sound waves and vibrating particles which head to your ear and the ear defender helps because air resistance then increases and reduces the loudness of the wave at a lower amplitude. The energy is then converted into heat and so when you wear them it allows you to hear sounds at a quieter amplitude. =)

ear defenders are used to reduce the amount of noise in a noisy environment. Sound travels through particles and if there are no particles e.g vaccum-a vaccum is a space without any particles sound waves cant travel so ear defenders are use full for people that work in noisy environments or simply if you just don't want to hear noise

it absorbs the sound :)

ear defenders are simple but effective. Usually, they are small plugs of expanding polyurthane or PVC. You squash them between your fingers and then fit them into your ear. They expand in the ear canal, making a snug fit.
The material absorbs the sound effectively and reduces the sound to a safer level.

In extremely noisy environments, you should wear ear muffs as well as the plugs. Their soft foam padding absorbs the sound and, importantly, makes a snug fit against the side of the head - any air gaps will let the sound through.

Ear defenders work because it is made out of certain material ... for example:
rough and soft surfaces , soundw will get absorbed.
Hard, flat and smooth surfaces sound bounces back.
certain material as in:
metal, acoustic foam
thermoplastic, etc.

They also work by increasing air resistance, then the noise[ loudness] would be reduced [ basically ear defenders are saying to noise, BEGONE THOT]

Ear defenders work because the outside hard plastic reflects the sound waves and the materials inside absorb the sound that does come through therefore it makes the sound not as loud to your ears
