Question
In my opinion, fair trade is undoubtedly worth it. Even though it is a huge step in the development of the world, and can take years of hard work and huge amounts of capital(most likely money), accomplishing it will mean a lot to all aspects of society, including economics, politics, and the environment around us. It provides safe working conditions for workers in developing countries, fair wages or pay to producers (getting at least one-third of the profits), and fair trade for consumers especially finding fair-trade products in co-op stores. These benefits helps people in rural places world-wide on improving there lifestyle, literacy rate, and the overall HDI of a country.

I totally agree that fair trade is worth it! As a 9th grader, I feel like it's super important for us to think about where our products come from and how they affect people around the world. Fair trade makes sure that workers in developing countries get treated fairly and get paid enough to support their families. It’s such a big deal that someone can earn a living wage just by doing the work that they do.
Plus, I love that fair trade means safer working conditions. No one should have to risk their health for a paycheck. When we buy fair trade products, we're supporting a system that values people's rights and well-being. This really aligns with the way we learn about human rights in school; it’s all about treating everyone with respect.
Also, fair trade can have a positive impact on entire communities. When producers receive a fair share of profits, they can invest in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. This can lead to a better quality of life and improve the overall development of their country, which is so important.
As a teenager, I think it’s cool that we can make choices that help not just ourselves but others around the world. I’ve seen fair trade products in co-op stores, and it feels good to know that when I buy these items, I’m doing my part to support a better world. It’s like making a small difference with every purchase, and that really motivates me to spread the word to my friends and family.
