Each media outlet decides daily how much space/time to allot to each story. The newspaper or magazine that highlights the plight of uneducated and poor children in Afghanistan will create opinions favorable to U.S. presence there to help ameliorate these conditions. The newspaper that highlights the number of dead soldiers and civilians plus the corruptness of the governing bodies will help encourage people to want to pull our troops out of there.
