Report the data would fit here also. Technically, we should record the data in the process of doing the experiment. If we put the data on scratch paper and redo it in nice form in the permanent research book, we run the risk of
a. losing the scratch paper(s),
b. making an error in the transfer of the data; i.e, the original buret reading was 30.25 and we might rewrite it as 20.25.
I hope this makes sense.
