Several student tonight have asked me how I create the √ symbol
to create √ symbol
on a PC, hold down the Alt key, and at the same time press 251 on the number pad, then release the Alt key
on Mac,
hold down the Option key, and press V, release the Option key

√ -- worked for me. You have to use the number pad, not the numbers across the top of the keyboard.
You have to follow the directions exactly.

Here is my attempt
√ works with Firefox browser, but not AOL9.0VR software browser, on the same PC.
I will stick with "sqrt" for square root.
