I believe that social media does bring people together socially to share ideas and experiences since globally, they all go onto the same platforms daily and consume the same media provided to them by the algorithm and content creators. It has a positive impact overall on people I know because it can educate people and spread awareness to different things. For example, Hashem states in 13 Positive Effects of Social Media on Our Society Today, “Social media is a great place for students to find mentors and training programs to learn new skills and take steps toward future career goals” (Hashem 1). In this example, the author writes about the importance of social media towards students and the vital help that it gives them. Like for some of my friends and I, we use some social media content to help study for classes, especially more rigorous courses like AP courses, by watching videos on Youtube, Tiktok, ect,. We have also learned new methods for studying more efficiently off of social media accounts that are made to help people find better ways to learn, like Knowt and Heimlers History.
