The cartoon seems to say that sometimes people care more about something that looks good than what is really important. I agree with this because, for example, people might pick a fancy toy that looks cool instead of one that helps them learn. Also, people often choose friends based on how they look instead of how nice they are. Finally, many times people buy brand-name clothes because they are popular, not because they are better than other clothes.
