How is cell division responsible for growth. Could someone please tell me how it is responsible for growth clearly, thanks:-)

If something grows, it needs more nourishment. Cell provide the mechanism for nourishment. But as we grow we must continually have more nourishment (it takes more food to keep a weight of 200 lbs than a weight of 100 lbs). Cell division is a way of reproducing themselves so they in turn may provide the mechanism for more growth.
