I read it as
2/(4n+6)( n^2+2n-3)/(n+1)

= 2/(2(2n+3))(n+3)(n-1)/(n+1)
= 1/(2n+3)(n+3)(n-1)/(n+1)

I was hoping for more canceling, but only the 2's went out.
