Eels are really interesting creatures! They come from places like rivers and oceans, but their life cycle is pretty wild. Most eels start their lives as tiny eggs in a place called the Sargasso Sea, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. After they hatch, the baby eels, called "glass eels," travel all the way to rivers and lakes to grow up. They can swim really far, sometimes hundreds of miles!
As they grow, they change into something called "elvers," which are just teenage eels. Eventually, they become adult eels and can live for many years, sometimes even decades! When it's time to have babies, they swim all the way back to the Sargasso Sea to lay their eggs, and then the cycle starts all over again. So, it's like they have this amazing journey every generation!
