Beginning
In the year 2285, the world had long been a desolate wasteland, bearing the scars of a nuclear apocalypse that had occurred over two centuries prior. Once thriving cities lay in ruins, and the Earth was a shadow of its former self, littered with remnants of a civilization that had seemingly been erased overnight. In the outskirts of a dilapidated town that once thrived as Riverside, a boy named Jonah scavenged through the rubble of the past. At only 14, Jonah had learned to survive in a world that cared little for the dreams of children. Clad in a makeshift leather jacket and worn-out boots scavenged from the remnants of an old Vault, he moved silently through the debris.
His father had disappeared into the wastes years ago in search of "The Vault," a supposed sanctuary that held the secrets of humanity's revival. The tales of the Vault, filled with everything from high-tech power armor to the fabled G.E.C.K. — the Garden of Eden Creation Kit — had fueled Jonah’s imagination. Every day he searched for clues or remnants that could lead him to his father or reveal the truth about the world that had vanished. On this day, however, fate would intervene in a way he could never have expected.
Middle
As Jonah rummaged through the husk of an old grocery store, he stumbled upon a strange device buried under a pile of rusted cans and shattered glass. It was small and obscure, with symbols he didn’t recognize. While tinkering with the device, a holographic projection flickered to life, revealing a figure wearing a blue Vault Suit with a yellow trim. “Hello there! If you’re seeing this message, then you’ve uncovered Vault-Tec’s last-ditch efforts to reach survivors! I’m Dr. Emil Cole, and I’m here to inform you of an upcoming Resurgence Initiative.”
Jonah's heart raced. This could be the lead he was looking for. Dr. Cole’s voice went on to explain a network of Vaults across the U.S. that had initiated a plan to repopulate the surface world. With the right resources and the G.E.C.K., a faction of Vault explorers was embarked on restoring the planet. Jonah grinned for the first time in many months. The message ended with coordinates to a nearby Vault, now rumored to be the only running facility left, pulsating with hope.
With renewed determination, Jonah set off toward the coordinates, evading raider camps and mutated creatures along the way. He traversed gnarled landscapes and treacherous routes, coming across communities of survivors who shared their grim stories and resources. Some offered counsel; others tried to take advantage of his youth. Despite the dangers, each encounter taught Jonah more about the tenacity of the human spirit, fueling his resolve.
Upon reaching the Vault, Jonah held his breath. The entrance was sealed, and beneath layers of dirt and debris, he could just make out the iconic Vault door insignia. With all his strength, he pushed against the door until, with a final heave, it creaked open. Inside, the faint humming of machinery echoed eerily. There were supplies, tools, and a functional computer terminal bathed in a soft blue light. He was not alone. A group of scientists were working on the Resurgence Initiative, believing that within the Vault’s safe walls lay the key to reviving humanity.

After gaining their trust, Jonah shared the tale of his father and the world beyond the Vault's walls. Dr. Cole’s hologram resurfaced, delivering encouragement to the team and Jonah alike. They revealed that Jonah’s father, a skilled technician, had been the last to enter the Vault years ago but had mysteriously vanished. Embracing this newfound family of survivors, Jonah pledged to help the Initiators restore life above ground.
With technology at his fingertips and an unquenchable spirit, Jonah transformed from a mere scavenger to a hopeful protector. He set out to fulfill his father’s legacy, forging bonds with fellow survivors to help rebuild society. Days turned to months as they worked tirelessly to cultivate land, raise crops, and share knowledge. The scars of the world remained, but the flickering light of revival flickered brighter, igniting Jonah's heart and igniting dreams of a new beginning in the irradiated wilderness. And though the Wasteland claimed much, it could never extinguish the resilience of a boy with a legacy to uphold.
