BB you didn't change the sign on the exponent when you switched your division to multiplication.
should have been g^(-7) * g^4 = g^-3 = 1/g^3
or just use the rule for division of powers
g^-7 / g^-4
= g^(-7 - (-4))
= g^-3 or 1/g^3
