His nose crinkled in disgust, and he quickly put the cap back on the jug. The sour odor lingered in the air, making him recoil slightly. "I can't believe I almost used this for my cereal," he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.

He turned to the fridge, hoping to find an alternative. As he rummaged through the shelves, he pondered the importance of checking expiration dates. Just last week, he had decided to be more mindful about food waste and had vowed to be more careful with his purchases.

"Looks like I need to take my own advice," he chuckled to himself. After tossing the offending jug into the trash, he found a half-full container of yogurt tucked behind some leftovers. “This’ll do, at least it’s not spoiled!” he said, relief flooding through him.

He poured the yogurt into his bowl, grabbed some fresh fruit, and smiled. Sometimes, a little creativity in the kitchen could lead to a delightful breakfast, even if it wasn’t what he initially planned.
