if cscx = 3, then sinx = 1/3
by Pythagoras, cosx = √8/3
cos 2x = cos^2x - sin^2x = 8/9 - 1/9 = 7/9
by Pythagoras, cosx = √8/3
cos 2x = cos^2x - sin^2x = 8/9 - 1/9 = 7/9
