an electric toy cart has a mass of 6.0 kilograms and a constant acceleration of 0.50 m/s2. How much work does the net force do on the toy cart as the cart travels 8.0 meters?

The applied force is M*a = 3.0 Newtons.

Multiply that by the distance moved to get the work done on the cart by the outside force (or the motor driving it). The work will be in Joules if the distance is in meters.
