No of moles of aspirin = No of mole of NaOH – No of mole of HCl
(M x V) NaOH – (M x V) HCl
(0.1M x 21.20ml) – (0.04M x 21.80ml)
1.248mmoles
Mass of aspirin = 180.157g/mol x 1.248mmoles = 224.8359mg
224.8359mg x 1g/1000mg = 0.2248g of Aspirin
Since, 0.102g Aspirin powder contains 0.2248 aspirin, what is the mass percent of aspirin in the tablet?
0.2248g/0.300g x 100 = 74.9%
