I'm a Jehovah's Witness. When someone comits a sin and they don't repent for what they have done, the elder's disfellow that person. In other words they can still go to meetings in the Kingdom Hall but they can't talk to anyone. Because it is a matter of loyalty to God and his Word: 1 Corinthians 5:11 says, "Stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a revileror or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such man." Withdrawing from an unrepentant wrongdoer protects us and the rest of the congregation from spiritual and moral contamination and upholds the congregation’s good name.
