How do you do this problem because i feel like i did it wrong

(3ã2 + 4)(3ã2 + 4)
9ã4 + 12ã2 + 12ã2 + 16
9*2ã2 + 12ã2 + 12ã2 + 16
18ã2 + 12ã2 + 12ã2 + 16 =
42ã2 + 16
