                How far from the center of the earth must a person be located in space so t hat his/her weight would be the same as when he/she is standing on the moon?

    The distance from the center of the Earth must increase by sqrt 6 = 2.45, since the g value of the moon  is (about) 1/6 of that of the earth. Since the Earth's radius is about 6400 km, that would make the new orbital distance from center 15,700 km.. That is about 4% of the way to the Moon.
