Respiratory rate is how many times a person breathes in a minute. Just like we count how many times our heart beats, we can also count how many times we take a breath. For kids, the normal respiratory rate is about 18 to 25 breaths per minute when they are resting. It's important because it helps us see how well our bodies are getting the oxygen they need!
