Most people sleep for about eight hours a night. Sleep happens in different stages, or parts. Each night you get into bed. You close your eyes. Then you enter the first stage. This is a light sleep. You can wake up easily from this stage. A few minutes later you go into the second stage. This is a deeper sleep. It is a little harder to wake up. Then you move into the third stage.
