Question

an employee pays 250 in taxes during one month. the tax rate is 30% what is her gross pay and net pay for that month

i am so confused would i say 250*30%= $75 than add 250+75=$325

Can someone tell me if that is right.

You need to find her gross and net pay. Obviously, they must be at least three times what she pays in taxes.

Let g = her gross pay.

0.3g = 250
g = $833.33

Let n = her net pay

833 - 250 = n

? = n
