The group of eight planets and other objects that orbit the Sun is known as the Solar System. The eight planets in our Solar System, in order from the Sun, are:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
In addition to these planets, the Solar System also contains dwarf planets (like Pluto), moons, comets, asteroids, and various other celestial bodies. The entire system is held together by the gravitational pull of the Sun, which contains over 99% of the total mass of the Solar System.
