I have absolutely no clue how to approach this question please help.

Freons, or chlorinated hydrocarbon molecules, are very stable on the ground, but in the upper atmosphere, ultraviolet radiation can free chlorine atoms from these molecules. The freed chlorine atoms can then react to destroy the ozone in the following steps. Step 1 Cl + O3 → ClO + O2 Step 2 ClO + O → Cl + O2 Explain how the chlorine atoms act as a catalyst in this reaction.
