Tsepang Letsoela for RC Vice Prime & Discipline (or) RC First Years & Mentorship
Greetings House Kestell,
I am Tsepang Letsoela, a candidate for RC Vice Prime & Discipline and RC First years and
mentorship 2024/25. These portfolios sparked an interest in me from the very first year I set foot
at House Kestell, inspired by the then RC Team of 2023. This interest propelled me to run for
FCOM Vice Prime and my passion for leadership has only gone stronger from then, I proceeded
to pursue leadership in several other subcommittees in the house including Sisterhood,
Disciplinary, Values& Strategies, FCOM, mentorship & ACT and I trust that I was dedicated and
effective in the previous roles the house trusted me with. My contribution to Kestell expanded
beyond the house, where I continually sought for collaborative opportunities for the house
through other leadership roles, I held at the time namely Golden Key Subcommittee (2023) and
now executive committee.
In my recent role as head mentor, I have had the opportunity to closely shadow the current RC
first years and I got to understand the challenges and appreciate the skills she conveyed in
supporting her group of First years, throughout that close relationship I gained comprehensive
insight on the role. I believe my empathetic character and my extroverted ability to effortlessly
form social relationships in the house makes me an ideal candidate for the role. I firmly believe
that my consistency in always showing up for the house and the supportive roles I have played
in the sub-structures of Kestell has given me the skills to foster discipline.
I believe I am best suited for both portfolios because I have comprehensive knowledge and
experience of the leadership structures within the house. I am confident that my competency,
creative ability, problem-solving and accountability would be a great addition to the RC Team.
Mission statement
• To thrive as a leader by realising the values of the house
Vision statement
• To create a supportive environment where fair procedures empower members to
embrace accountability.
• To create an inclusive environment where first years feel empowered and inspired to
contribute to the community by fostering empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Objectives
• Ensure open communication by maintaining open channels for feedback and dialogue,
allowing members to debate freely how the rules can be modified and be
accommodative.
• Build a culture of empathy and respect.
• Reviving a more consistent Teacan culture to promote a supportive environment for
house members.
• Monitor and support student wellbeing.
I am committed to ensuring that House Kestell thrives. With your support, I will work
tirelessly to serve House Kestell as your RC 2024/25. Thank you.
