Water vapor itself is not visible to the naked eye when it is in its gaseous state. However, when water vapor condenses into tiny water droplets or ice crystals, such as in clouds, fog, or steam, it becomes visible. This is why we can see steam rising from a hot cup of coffee or clouds in the sky; these phenomena consist of tiny water droplets that scatter light.
