Same thing, but more literally:

1/7 of 6.3 = (1/7)(6.3)


The only potential import of this way of showing it comes into play when one is asked something like, "What is 23% of 315?" In both cases, "of" indicates multiplication, and uses multiplication consistently for both makes it easier to remember how to do one if you remember how to do the other.

PS: 23% of 315 = (23/100)(315)
