In your own words, explain the difference between the OSI model and the TCP/IP model. Why do you think there are two models?

The TCP/OSI model will be more designed for network devices that can be connected to the internet. The OSI model is a conceptual framework and is more compressive in multiple network communications. The TCP/IP also called the DoD model is basically a condensed version of the OSI model that comprises four instead of seven layers. In 1982, the TCP/IP Model became the standard language of ARPANET and in 1984, the OSI model was introduced by the international organization of standardization (ISO)

Few difference are as follows..

TCP/IP is a communication protocol and allows connections of the host over a network/ OSI Is a structured model which handles the functioning of the network.
OSI follows a vertical approach and the TCP/IP follows a horizontal approach.
TCP/IP is the implementation of the OSI model and the OSI Model is a reference model based on which a network is created.
I believe that there are two model because the TCP/IP seems to be a simple more condensed version of the OSI model because it more adaptable and scalable.
