As a student teacher, discuss how you facilitated and mediated classroom management in teaching practice

During my teaching practice as a student teacher, I implemented a variety of strategies to facilitate and mediate classroom management. One of the key strategies I used was setting clear expectations and routines from the beginning of the school year. I created a list of rules and consequences with input from the students, which helped them understand what was expected of them and the consequences of not following the rules.

I also utilized positive reinforcement techniques such as praise, rewards, and recognition to encourage good behavior and create a positive classroom environment. I made sure to provide consistent feedback to students and acknowledge their efforts and achievements.

In terms of addressing disruptive behavior, I used a combination of preventative measures and responsive strategies. I tried to anticipate potential issues and proactively address them before they escalated. If a student did exhibit disruptive behavior, I addressed it calmly and privately, focusing on problem-solving and finding solutions together.

Additionally, I made an effort to build positive relationships with students, getting to know them individually and showing that I cared about their well-being. This helped create a sense of trust and respect in the classroom, making it easier to manage behavior and conflicts.

Overall, by being proactive, consistent, and approachable, I was able to facilitate effective classroom management during my teaching practice as a student teacher. I learned a lot from this experience and feel better prepared to handle similar situations in my future teaching career.
