Baruch plan and it's purpose

The Baruch Plan was a proposal put forth by Bernard Baruch, an advisor to President Harry S. Truman, in 1946. The purpose of the plan was to establish an international system for the control and regulation of nuclear weapons, with the goal of preventing the proliferation of atomic weapons and reducing the threat of nuclear war.

The Baruch Plan called for the creation of an international authority to control and regulate the production of nuclear weapons, as well as to oversee the peaceful use of atomic energy. It also called for the elimination of existing stockpiles of nuclear weapons and the establishment of a system of inspections to ensure compliance with the regulations.

While the Baruch Plan was ultimately not implemented, it laid the groundwork for later efforts to control nuclear weapons, such as the creation of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
