Nev had always been independent, despite being confined to a wheelchair. She was used to the stares and pitying looks she received from strangers, but she never let it bother her.
One day, while out shopping for groceries, she noticed a man following her. At first, she thought nothing of it, assuming he was just heading in the same direction. But as she made her way through the aisles, she noticed him lingering just a little too close.
Nev tried to brush it off, but something about the man sent shivers down her spine. She quickened her pace, trying to put some distance between them, but no matter where she went, he was always there, watching her with a sinister smile on his face.
Finally, unable to shake him, Nev turned to confront him. "What do you want?" she demanded, trying to sound brave despite the fear creeping into her voice.
The man, whose name she soon learned was Joe, simply chuckled. "Oh, just wanted to get a closer look at you, Nev," he said, his eyes glinting with malice.
Nev's heart pounded in her chest as she realized she was dealing with a stalker. She tried to wheel away, but Joe grabbed her arm, his grip tight and unforgiving.
"You can't escape me, Nev," he hissed, his face contorted with madness. "I'll always find you."
With a surge of adrenaline, Nev managed to break free from his grasp and wheel away as fast as she could. She didn't stop until she reached the safety of her home, where she locked the door and called the police.
But even as she waited for help to arrive, Nev couldn't shake the feeling of Joe's eyes following her, watching her every move. And she knew that this was far from over. Joe was a stalker, and she was his prey.
