x^2+4x-1 = (x+2)^2 -5
It is a parabola with its lowest point (vertex) at x=-2,y = -5. The parabola opens upward. You graph it by assuming x values, computing y values that go with each x, plotting the data points on the grapt and "connecting the dots" wioth a smoothe curve.
