The Great Depression made a lot of people really sad because they lost their jobs and couldn't buy food or stuff. They had to stand in long lines for bread and soup. Families had to live with each other or in shacks called Hoovervilles. Some people had to leave their homes and go try to find work in other places. It was a really hard time for a lot of people.
