The sum of the diameters of two circles is 28 inches. One circle has a diameter that is 8 inches longer than the diameter of the other. What are the diameters of the two circles?

x=d-8

try it from there do you know how to do system of equailets? think of x as one of your diameters and d as the other.
plug in the second equation to the top one lik this:
(d-8)+d=28 then find x and check it by plugging in the number. hope this helps (:
