3.THE markdown percent for a camera is 20%.if the new retail price is RM250, find the old retail price.

6 answers

Multiply:

250*1.2 = ??

(RM250 x 120%)
rm250/100x120 ?

is that true my formula?
old price --- x

.8x = 250
x = 250/.8 = 312.50

check:
markdown on 312.50 = .2(312.50) = 62.50
new price = 312.50 - 62.50 = 250
how get .8 ?100-20=80 then divided by 100 = .8 ?
I respectfully disagree, the answers are not the same

If I take a take a 20% markdown on your $300
I get $60, which would leave a new price of $240, not $250
80%/100% * 250 = 312.5
